Western blot analysis of anti-PGC1 Beta/PPARGC1B antibody (BM5484). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: human 293T whole cell lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-PGC1 Beta/PPARGC1B antigen affinity purified monoclonal antibody (BM5484) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for PGC1 Beta/PPARGC1B at approximately 113 kDa. The expected band size for PGC1 Beta/PPARGC1B is at 113 kDa.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-beta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PPARGC1B gene. It is mapped to 5q32. The protein encoded by this gene stimulates the activity of several transcription factors and nuclear receptors,including estrogen receptor alpha,nuclear respiratory factor 1,and glucocorticoid receptor. The encoded protein may be involved in fat oxidation,non-oxidative glucose metabolism,and the regulation of energy expenditure. This protein is downregulated in prediabetic and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Certain allelic variations in this gene increase the risk of the development of obesity. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
