Western blot analysis of anti-Chromogranin A/CHGA antibody (A01256-3). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: rat pancrease tissue lysates,
Lane 2: mouse pancrease tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Chromogranin A/CHGA antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (A01256-3) and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for Chromogranin A/CHGA at approximately 70-80 kDa. The expected band size for Chromogranin A/CHGA is at 52 kDa.

IF analysis of Chromogranin A/CHGA using anti-Chromogranin A/CHGA antibody (A01256-3).
Chromogranin A/CHGA was detected in an immunocytochemical section of RM-1 cells. DyLight®488 Conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (Green) (Catalog # BA1127) was used as secondary antibody. The section was counterstained with DAPI (Catalog # AR1176) (Blue).

CHGA, also known as CGA or chromogranin A, is an acidic protein costored and coreleased with catecholamines from storage granules in the adrenal medulla. CHGA is a member of the granin family of neuroendocrine secretory protein, It is located in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. In humans, CHGA protein is encoded by the CHGA gene, and it is mapped to 14q32.12. CHGA gene product is a precursor to three biologically active peptides: vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides negatively modulate the neuroendocrine function of the releasing cell (autocrine) or nearby cells (paracrine).
