Western blot analysis of Prolactin/PRL using anti-Prolactin/PRL antibody (PB0364). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: Rat Brain tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Prolactin/PRL antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (PB0364) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for Prolactin/PRL at approximately 26 kDa. The expected band size for Prolactin/PRL is at 26 kDa.

Prolactin (PRL), also known as luteotropic hormone or luteotropin, is a protein that in humans is best known for its role in enabling female mammals to produce milk. This gene encodes the anterior pituitary hormone prolactin. This secreted hormone is a growth regulator for many tissues, including cells of the immune system. It may also play a role in cell survival by suppressing apoptosis, and it is essential for lactation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein.
