Western blot analysis of anti-Survivin/BIRC5 antibody (RP1026). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: human Hela whole cell lysates,
Lane 2: human Jurkat whole cell lysates,
Lane 2: human 293T whole cell lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Survivin/BIRC5 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (RP1026) and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for Survivin/BIRC5 at approximately 16 kDa. The expected band size for Survivin/BIRC5 is at 16 kDa.

IHC analysis of Survivin/BIRC5 using anti-Survivin/BIRC5 antibody (RP1026).
Survivin/BIRC5 was detected in a paraffin-embedded section of human colon cancer tissue. The tissue section was developed using HRP Conjugated Rabbit IgG Super Vision Assay Kit (Catalog # SV0002) with DAB (Catalog # AR1027) as the chromogen.

Survivin, also called baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis repeat-containing 5 or BIRC5, is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the BIRC5 gene. Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis(IAP) family. The survivin gene contains 4 exons. The survivin gene is mapped to chromosome 17q25 by pulsed field gel electrophoresis and single- and 2-color FISH. The survivin protein functions to inhibit caspase activation, thereby leading to negative regulation of apoptosis or programmed cell death. The survivin protein is expressed highly in most human tumours and fetal tissue, but is completely absent in terminally differentiated cells.
