Western blot analysis of BMP7 using anti-BMP7 antibody (BA0665-2). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: Rat brain tissue lysates,
Lane 2: Human placenta tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-BMP7 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (BA0665-2) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for BMP7 at approximately 49 kDa. The expected band size for BMP7 is at 49 kDa.

The bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a family of secreted signaling molecules that can induce ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs are part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMPs were originally identified by an ability of demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo in an extraskeletal site. Based on its expression early in embryogenesis, the BMP encoded by this gene has a proposed role in early development and possible bone inductive activity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
