Western blot analysis of Tenascin-C/TNC using anti-Tenascin-C/TNC antibody (BA1428-2). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: Rat brain tissue lysates,
Lane 2: Rat liver tissue lysates,
Lane 3: Rat spleen tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Tenascin-C/TNC antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (BA1428-2) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for Tenascin-C/TNC at approximately 241 kDa. The expected band size for Tenascin-C/TNC is at 232 kDa.

TNC(Tenascin C), also known as TN or HXB, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TNC gene. By means of Southern analysis of rodent-human somatic cell hybrids and by in situ hybridization using hexabrachion cDNA probes, Gulcher et al.(1990) localized the TNC gene to chromosome 9q32-q34. Olson and Srivastava(1996) reviewed processes involved in separation of the cardiac tube into the atria, ventricles, and outflow tract. They noted that tenascin is upregulated and NCAM is downregulated in the embryonic endocardial cushions. Gherzi et al.(1997) found that the TNC gene is subject to transcriptional control by OTX2.
