Western blot analysis of ITGA7 using anti-ITGA7 antibody (BA3357-2). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: 293T whole cell lysates,
Lane 2: A431 whole cell lysates,
Lane 3: HELA whole cell lysates,
Lane 4: JURKAT whole cell lysates,
Lane 5: RAJI whole cell lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-ITGA7 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (BA3357-2) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for ITGA7 at approximately 130 kDa. The expected band size for ITGA7 is at 129 kDa.

Integrin alpha-7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ITGA7 gene. This gene is mapped to 12q13.2. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. They mediate a wide spectrum of cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and thus play a role in cell migration, morphologic development, differentiation, and metastasis. This protein functions as a receptor for the basement membrane protein laminin-1. It is mainly expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscles and may be involved in differentiation and migration processes during myogenesis. Defects in this gene are associated with congenital myopathy.
