Western blot analysis of anti-TGF Alpha/TGFA antibody (BM5603). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: human HepG2 whole cell lysates,
Lane 2: human A431 whole cell lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-TGF Alpha/TGFA antigen affinity purified monoclonal antibody (BM5603) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for TGF Alpha/TGFA at approximately 15 kDa. The expected band size for TGF Alpha/TGFA is at 17 kDa.

背景资料

Transforming growth factor alpha(TGF-alpha) is upregulated in some human cancers. It is produced in macrophages, brain cells, and keratinocytes, and induces epithelial development. It is closely related to EGF, and can also bind to the EGF receptor with similar effects . TGFalpha stimulates neural cell proliferation in the adult injured brain. TGFalpha was cited in the 2001 NIH Stem Cell report to the U.S. Congress as promising evidence for the ability of adult stem cells to restore function in neurodegenerative disorders.
