Western blot analysis of anti-Cytokeratin 7/KRT7 antibody (BM4622). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: human SIHA whole cell lysates,
Lane 2: human RT4 whole cell lysates,
Lane 3: human A549 whole cell lysates,
Lane 4: human Hela whole cell lysates,
Lane 5: rat lung tissue lysates,
Lane 6: rat kidney tissue lysates,
Lane 7: mouse lung tissue lysates,
Lane 8: mouse kidney tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Cytokeratin 7/KRT7 antigen affinity purified monoclonal antibody (BM4622) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for Cytokeratin 7/KRT7 at approximately 40-50 kDa. The expected band size for Cytokeratin 7/KRT7 is at 51 kDa.

KRT7 is a type II keratin of simple nonkeratinizing epithelia. The deduced 489-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of about 54 kD. K7 contains 4 central alpha-helical segments with heptad repeats of hydrophobic residues characteristic of a coiled-coil region. Within this domain, K7 shares 73% homology with epidermal K6B. KRT7 gene contains 9 exons and spans more than 15.6 kb. K7 gene is mapped to chromosome 12. Keratin 7 is expressed in a wide range of epithelial structures in humans.
